Om Shanti Om directed by Farah Khan with Shah Rukh and debutant Deepika Padukone in the lead roles was declared as one of the greatest hits of last year. The success of this film has led many film makers from other languages to consider remaking the same in their own language and there seems to be stiff competition among them to buy the rights. Maddy was supposed to be very keen to remake the same in Tamil and has approached the King Khan. Even though, the rates quoted by Shah Rukh were said to be astronomical, Maddy is very eager and firm about bringing Om Shanti Om to Tamil.
